Church History

Springside Baptist Church (SBC) was originally founded as Deanville Baptist Church on May 18, 1880 in Deanville, PA as a Free Will Baptist Church. It was reorganized as a Regular Baptist Church and recognized with a charter on May 18, 1924.  The Church joined the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches on June 15, 1964.  It has been associated with the Pennsylvania Association of Regular Baptist Churches since January 5, 1950.  During a business meeting on June 19, 2003 the Church was constitutionalized as an Independent Baptist Fellowship.  The Association that we affiliate with all believe in the autonomy of the local church.

The name of the church was changed from Deanville Baptist Church to Springside Baptist Church on April 19, 1978 following a decision to build a new building in Distant, PA.  The first service held in the new building was a prayer service held on December 12, 1979.

The church building itself has a large sanctuary, multiple classrooms, and a Multi-Purpose Gym/Fellowship Hall.  SBC also offers a parsonage to the Pastor which is a 4-bedroom/3-bath split level home with a 2-car garage.
